Why Now is the BEST Time to Bring Back the Ford Bronco
Let’s talk about sport utility vehicles for a minute. Ford sells a bunch of them, and lately they’ve been growing at some of the fastest rates of the entire company. People can’t get enough of Ford crossovers and SUVs. That’s why NOW is the time to bring a new Bronco to market.
Last month, Ford’s SUV sales were up 27%, giving them the best September sales since 2003. The Ford Edge, which we like, was up 33%. The new Ford Explorer, which we also like, up 38%. Finally, the Escape, which interestingly we haven’t reviewed recently, is up 31%, and that’s the one vehicle that wasn’t recently refreshed.
These strong sales mean that people want crossovers and SUVs. More specifically, they want Ford crossovers and SUVs. It seems to make sense that Ford give the people more and more of these vehicles. One way to do that is to confirm, and then build, an all-new Ford Bronco.
We can speculate until the cows come home about the new Bronco, what it’ll be based off of, and if it’ll even have a 52-speed manual transmission, but at the end of the day, we’re not even sure it’s on Ford’s radar.
But with strong SUV sales, and no signs of stopping, it seems like now, more than ever, Ford has the business case to make it happen.
