The Fenyr Supersport and Lykan Hypersport get a burly new brother.
The latest car craze is the luxury SUV. Bentley has one and soon it seems that Rolls-Royce,Lamborghini, and other automakers will either pimp out existing SUVs or give existing luxury sedans a growth spurt. Not wanting to be outdone, a small company named Zarooq has just announced plans to build its creation, a luxury rally racer called the Sand Racer. The proposed SUV coupe will have a 3.5-liter V6 engine pushing 305 horsepower, but owners with nerves of steel can opt for the burlier 400-horsepower or 500-horsepower options.
This is huge power for a 2,200-pound rear-wheel drive rally car that will draw comparisons to Napoleon with its 165-inch length. To sweeten the deal, the road-legal car comes with a six-speed paddle shifting automatic gearbox, air conditioning, a 124 mph top speed, carbon fiber interior trim, and “comfort seats.” Owners also have some bragging rights to share with their buddies at the hookah bar because the car was designed by Anthony Jannarelly, the same man who crafted the Lykan Hypersport and the Fenyr Supersport. Zarooq will debut the car in January of 2016 and it may start at upwards of $100,000.
